BW Summer Interns Tell All!

Every year, we like to welcome some friendly new faces for the summer, giving us the opportunity to teach and provide mentorship for some aspiring marketers. This year, we had two interns join our Brightworks family from Brock University and Western University. Here’s what they had to say about their experience.

 

 

Aditi Trivedi | QA + Digital Analytics Intern

Brock University – Bachelor of Science, Computer Science

“Spending the summer interning at Brightworks was the best decision I made for my career. I spent 4 months working with talented and knowledgeable marketing professionals, and was able to learn what exactly it takes to run multiple successful campaigns.

As a QA/Digital Analytics Intern, I had the unique opportunity to work with various teams and contribute in a meaningful way to the final product. Under the mentorship of Farrah and Shawn, I was able to take on small projects on my own, which was instrumental in my overall learning experience. Being a computer science student, it is natural to pursue development jobs; working at Brightworks, however, has shown me the many different applications of technology. Digital analytics is vital to the success of any good marketing strategy, and during the course of my internship, I saw how heaps of data can be leveraged to provide valuable business insights. In addition to being experts in their respective fields, Brightworkers have also showed me how work and fun can mutually coexist – thus setting the bar very high for any future employers I may have.

Vince Chung | Project Coordinator Intern

Western University – Management of Applied Science,

“Coming from an interdisciplinary master’s program, I wanted to leverage my science background, while furthering my business acumen. Being an intern at Brightworks delivered the perfect combination of marketing, project management, and pharmaceuticals. It was an amazing learning and development opportunity to be at the intersection of science and business for a wide range of therapeutic brands.

However, aside from career development, my biggest takeaway was in the importance of workplace culture and day-to-day work life. From summer parties to enjoying a cold one from the beer fridge, working at Brightworks was never a dull moment. The value of working with like-minded individuals, who were always willing to provide guidance and mentorship cannot be overstated. More importantly, did I mention that there was a beer fridge?”

 

We wanted to give these two a special shout out for all their hard work this summer!

While Aditi has left us to complete her final year at Brock, we are thrilled that Vince has decided to stay on full-time at Brightworks as an Account Executive!
